Rules And Regulations
-
Ducks will be dropped
into the Boardman River at the Union Street Bridge,
Traverse City, Michigan at 4:00 pm on Thursday, (Kids
Day), of the National Cherry Festival.

A number
will be attached to each duck corresponding to the number
on an adoption paper. Multiple duck entries from one
adoption paper will be assigned additional duck numbers
for identification. The adoptive parent's name who appears
on the adoption papers corresponding to the first ducks
plucked from the river will be awarded prizes, (you
do not need to be present to win).

Promoter
reserves the right at its sole option to substitute
prizes of comparable value.

The promoters
are not responsible for any interference to the progress
of the ducks down the river by either natural obstructions
or intrusion of observers. Participants are not allowed
to touch the numbered ducks at any time and the participant's
corresponding ducks will be considered disqualified
if such interference occurs.

Adoption
papers can be completed online at
http://tc-optimist.org/duckrace/ or through any
of the authorized participating youth organizations
and their chosen outlets.

Ducks can
be adop ted
for $5 each duck or by the 6 quack, ($25 for 6 ducks).
Purchases are non-refundable.
Winners
will be announced on the river's edge at the Traverse
City Chamber of Commerce, 202 E. Grandview Parkway,
Traverse City at approximately 4:30 pm on Thursday,
(Kids Day), of the National Cherry Festival. Entrants
will, where necessary, also be notified by United States
mail or by telephone. Duck Race participants need not
be present to win.
By entering,
entrants agree to release the Promoter and its members,
agents, employees, and other related entities from any
and all liability with respect to prizes and or participation
in the event of any kind.
By entering,
participants consent to promotional use of their names,
pictures and likeness without additional compensation.
Chances
of winning depend on the total number of qualified entries.
This event
is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and
regulations and is void where prohibited by law.
All decisions
and interpretations of rules and regulations will be
made by the Promoter and its judgment is final.
The Annual
Friends of Youth Duck Race and its logo are registered
trademarks of the Promoter and no other person or entity
is authorized to copy or otherwise use them without
the Promoter's written consent.
If the Promoter
determines, in its sole discretion, that the Duck Race
cannot occur at the scheduled time for any reason, then
the Promoter can postpone the Duck Race to another date
and time by public announcement thereof.
